The Annual SAFE-T Conferences are open to
friends and supporters of SAFE-T as well as educators, mental health
counselors, and childcare providers.
Former Miss America MARILYN VAN DERBUR was
the keynote speaker for the First Annual SAFE-T Educational
Conference in 2000. She is one of the outstanding women in America
today. She graduated from the University of Colorado with Phi Beta
Kappa honors. For 15 years she has been in great demand as a keynote
convention speaker. She is the only woman named “The Outstanding
Woman Speaker in America.” Marilyn has written several books and
produced the video Once Can Hurt A Lifetime. She is an incest
and child abuse survivor.
DAVID PELZER, the author of A Child
Called It was the keynote speaker for the 2002 Annual SAFE-T
Educational Conference. He delighted the audience of over 200 people
with anecdotes, humor, and stories of his childhood. He was the
third-worst child abuse case recorded in the state of California,
and he has written 4 best-selling books. He has been featured on
many television talk shows including Oprah.
